    Artificial Intelligence (AI) is arguably the wave of the future, and it seems to be creating as many questions for employers as it answers. This presentation will address risks to employers and areas of consideration when developing company policies.

     

    Main Room | Addressing Social Media in the Workplace

    Social media has become an integral part of employees’ personal and professional lives. This presentation will address social media usage that affects the workplace, with a focus on privacy, harassment, discrimination, employee comments, NLRB compliance, and responsible usage.

     

    Main Room | Robust Job Descriptions to the Rescue

    Job descriptions are the cornerstone of important processes in your organization and play a key role in recruitment, identifying job restrictions and pay practices. This presentation will discuss how to write effective and compliant job descriptions.

     

    Main Room | Hiding Behind the Screen: Cyberbullying at Work

    Cyberbullying is repeated behavior, aimed at scaring, angering or shaming those that are targeted. It has no place in the work environment. This presentation will discuss key steps in handling cyberbullying, effective policies, reporting challenges and when to report threats to law enforcement.

     

    Main Room | Remote Work: Recruitment Tool of the Future

    Many employers have employees working remotely at least part of the time and some new hires expect flexible work arrangements. The presentation will discuss some of the legal challenges that arise with remote work arrangements, including effectively managing employee performance, complying with wage and hour laws, navigating disability concerns, and addressing reimbursement requirements.

     

    General Session | Keeping up with Change: Effective HR Audits

    Avoid costly violations and fines and ensure your HR practices and policies are up-to-date and compliant. This session will discuss compliance pitfalls, steps to take to review your organizations policies and procedures, to focus on hiring evaluation and selection practices, wage and hour pay practices and recordkeeping, medical leave administration and workplace safety.
