We have greatly impacted individuals, AALRR attorneys and staff, and people in the community by prioritizing AALRR as a fulfilling place for women and minorities to work. We want them to advance, and they do.
One way we have sought to accomplish this goal is by formalizing our longstanding commitment to diversity and inclusivity by establishing two new committees that have put on several quality events and are planning more. These committees work to provide support and opportunities to the best and brightest attorneys from all groups, including those traditionally underrepresented in the legal field, to fulfill their potential to excel as firm, community, and industry leaders.
Diversity & Inclusion Committee
Comprised of women, Latinos, African Americans, and Asian Americans, AALRR’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee seeks to provide both firm-wide and community opportunities to broaden viewpoints, strengthen connections, and foster a culture of inclusivity. Firm initiatives include training for attorneys and staff to promote understanding of backgrounds and diverse thinking, conducting networking events to build an inclusive culture. Past events include hosting a firm-wide event in which a renowned speaker talked to all the AALRR attorneys about how decision-making is affected by neuroscience, psychology, and implicit association, and holding a charity drive to donate gently used business attire to a women’s shelter.

Women@AALRR
The professional world presents challenges and opportunities unique to women, and our women’s committee seeks to provide our attorneys with the tools and support they need to find long-term success. Women @ AALRR endeavors to enhance the experience of our women attorneys by providing professional development opportunities and building relationships through networking and mentoring programs. The committee coordinates activities internally and externally, including a community outreach component. Past events include hosting a Lunch & Learn, in which attorneys heard from an outside expert spoke to our attorneys about maximizing business relationships and improving self-advocacy, and took part in interactive activities to improve business development skills.
