Overview
AALRR is very familiar with SGMA and is currently serving as general counsel to a GSA located in a high-priority groundwater basin that is critically overdrafted. Further, we are assisting with the development of a GSP due by January 31, 2020. Thus, AALRR is providing legal assistance in the development of one of the first GSPs that will be submitted to the Department of Water Resources for review. In addition, our firm is assisting the GSA with various public agency requirements including the Brown Act and conflict of interest laws. We are well versed in the requirements of SGMA, including the requirements involving the formation of a locally-controlled GSA and the development and implementation of a GSP, and our attorneys are frequently asked to speak on these issues.
