Nine AALRR Attorneys Recognized as Rising Stars by Super Lawyers National Rating Service

06.06.2014

CERRITOS, Calif. —Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) is pleased to announce that nine firm attorneys have been included on the list of 2014 Southern California Rising Stars, as issued by Super Lawyers, a national rating service of exceptional lawyers from more than 70 practice areas. The recognition honors exceptional Southern California attorneys who are 40 years old or younger, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less.

The recognition includes Cerritos-based partner, Sundee M. Johnson, of the firm’s special education practice, who is a Rising Star designee for the sixth consecutive year, and Irvine-based partner, Anthony P. De Marco, of the firm’s public sector labor and employment practice, who is a Rising Star designee for the fifth consecutive year.  Additionally, six attorneys from the firm’s Cerritos office were named to the list: partner, Amber M. Solano, of the firm’s private sector labor and employment law practice; associates, Jennifer D. Cantrell and Stephen M. McLoughlin, of the firm’s facilities, construction and property practice; associates, Geneva L. Englebrecht and Carlos M. Gonzalez, of the firm’s special education practice; and Jabari A. Willis of the public sector labor and employment practice.  Brooke E. Jimenez, an associate in the Riverside office, practicing in the firm’s public sector labor and employment practice, was also named to the list.

Cantrell, Englebrecht, Jimenez, Johnson and Solano also share the added distinction of inclusion in the publication’s 2014 list of the Top Women Attorneys in Southern California.

“We are pleased to have nearly doubled our number of attorneys recognized in this year’s list of Rising Stars.  This year’s honorees will take their place among the others in our firm who have also received this distinction,” says AALRR Managing Partner James C. Romo.

The California Rising Star honor is awarded to no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers practicing in the state. This multi-step process includes independent research and peer assessment and appraisal. The results will be published in the July 2014 issues of Los Angeles magazine and Super Lawyers magazine.
