What’s Next for ESY? A Proactive Discussion About Defensible Extended School Year Programming
Join us as we discuss strategies to best ensure IEP teams are making legally compliant decisions with respect to ESY programming.
It may seem like school is just starting, but IEP teams must consider whether students with disabilities require ESY at every plan review. The recent district court decision in the case of M.C., a minor, by and through his guardian ad litem, S.B. v. Los Angeles Unified School District, a local educational agency, and California Department of Education, gives us cause to reevaluate whether our teams are making sound decisions. This webinar will target what IEP teams must consider when determining whether a student requires ESY services in order to receive a free appropriate public education, and how to offer the necessary supports, services, and placement in the least restrictive environment for those who do.
