California AB5 Injunction Denied  - Now What?: What this Means and Compliance

07.14.2022
Program: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Location: Virtual

The United States Supreme Court recently declined to hear the petition filed by the California Trucking Association challenging California’s Assembly Bill 5 (“AB 5”).  This decision leaves in place the Ninth Circuit’s April 2021 2-1 decision allowing California to enforce AB 5 in the trucking industry.  In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision, many truckers, trucking companies, and businesses who contract for trucking services are scrambling to understand and comply with the requirements of AB 5.

This webinar will cover what AB 5 requires, how courts will analyze claims challenging independent contractor status under AB 5, and what strategies business can employ to achieve compliance with the law, including whether and how AB 5’s “business-to-business exemption” might apply to their operations.

Join us to discuss the parameters of the ABC test, industry exemptions, and when the Borello factors come back into play when classifying your workforce.

Learn best practices on how to meet these requirements and avoid the pitfalls of misclassification.

Please join us for this important complimentary webinar.
