Eight AALRR Attorneys Recognized as 2015 Southern California Super Lawyers

Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) is pleased to announce that eight firm attorneys have been included on the list of 2015 Southern California Super Lawyers.  Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations.

This year’s list includes Cerritos-based partner, Irma Rodríguez Moisa, who is receiving her twelfth consecutive Super Lawyer designation.  Ms. Rodríguez Moisa is an experienced litigator, labor negotiator, and trial attorney representing public and private entities in labor and employment matters.  She also is the chair of the firm’s Public Entity Labor and Employment practice. 

Steven D. Atkinson and Mark T. Palin both made the list for their ninth time.  Mr.  Atkinson, one of the firm’s founding partners, practices in AALRR’s Private Labor and Employment practice, and has defended employers for more than 40 years in all aspects of labor relations.  Mr. Palin, managing partner-elect, has over 25 years of experience in business-related litigation, and is an accomplished trial lawyer with extensive experience in arbitrations, mediations, class actions, and bench and jury trials. 

James C. Romo and Nate J. Kowalski are each appearing on the list for their eighth time.  Mr. Romo is a founding partner of the firm, the current managing partner, and represents public employers in all aspects of labor relations and employment law matters.  Mr. Kowalski is an accomplished litigator who represents employers in both the private and public sectors. He has litigated hundreds of labor and employment cases in both state and federal courts.   

Thomas W. Kovacich has made the Southern California Super Lawyers list for his seventh time.  Mr. Kovacich is senior partner in the Cerritos office and has exclusively represented employers for over 30 years in all aspects of employment law and labor relations matters, and public agencies with respect to all aspects of public works.

Jon R. Mower has made the list for his fifth time.  Mr. Mower is senior partner in the Irvine office, and has accumulated a wide breadth of experience in civil litigation, having tried over 50 cases to verdict and has handled over 3,000 litigation matters over the course of his career.

New to the list, Joseph N. Akrotirianakis is a highly-accomplished trial lawyer, a seasoned commercial litigator, and a decorated former federal prosecutor. Mr. Akrotirianakis possesses an undefeated record in more than 25 trials and arbitrations.
