CERRITOS, CALIF. Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (“AALRR”) is pleased to announce that two firm attorneys, Jabari Willis and Carlos Gonzalez, have been named “Rising Stars” in the 2016 Southern California Super Lawyers 2016 Edition. Both Willis and Gonzalez have received this honor each year for the past three years. Willis was named a Rising Star in 2012 as well.
Super Lawyers is a national service that rates exceptional lawyers from more than 70 practice areas. Its Rising Stars designation honors exceptional Southern California attorneys who are 40 years old or younger or who have been practicing law for ten years or less. Rising Stars are selected after a multiphase process that takes into account peer nominations and evaluations and independent research regarding the attorneys’ professional achievements. Only 2.5 percent of attorneys are selected as Rising Stars.
Jabari Willis is a partner in AALRR’s Cerritos office and is part of the firm’s Southern California Education Law practice group. Mr. Willis represents school districts and other public entities in labor and employment and education law matters. His experience includes matters related to certificated and classified employee discipline, collective bargaining, and special education, including appeals of special education administrative decisions.
Carlos Gonzalez is senior counsel in AALRR’s Cerritos office, practicing with the firm’s Special Education Law practice group. Mr. Gonzalez represents California school and community college districts in education law, including special education and student discipline, as well as labor and employment matters. His experience includes matters related to administrative due process hearings, mediations, and all matters related to special education law, including appeals of special education administrative decisions.
