02.19.2014

CERRITOS, Calif. —Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) proudly announces that Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) named the firm as a recipient of the 2014 National Diversity Excellence Award.  The ABC National Diversity Excellence Award recognizes members who display exemplary diversity leadership in their workforce, supply chain and community with best-in-class recruitment policies, retention practices, and training and mentoring programs.

ABC recognizes one company in each category (Associate, Supplier, Subcontractor Under $14 Million, Subcontractor Over $14 Million and General Contractor).   This year, Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo was chosen as the award recipient in the Associate category.  Thomas A. Lenz, who serves multiple ABC California chapters as legal counsel and the National ABC organization on various committees, accepted the award on behalf of the firm.

When asked about the recognition, Robert L. Wenzel, AALRR’s Chief Operating Officer commented, “We are very pleased to receive this award recognizing our continued commitment to diversity.  The firm has a long standing tradition of promoting a culture of diversity, and we are honored to have been recognized again for our diversity leadership.”

In 2012, AALRR was recognized by California Lawyer magazine as having the most diversity among its equity partners, and in 2013, for leading all law firms in the state for diversity among all partners.
