AALRR Announces Re-Election of James Baca as Managing Partner

05.29.2024

Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) is pleased to announce that James Baca has been re-elected to serve a second term as the Firm’s Managing Partner, beginning January 1, 2025. He was first elected in 2021 and will complete his current term at the end of this year.

Mr. Baca has been with AALRR for over 30 years and has previously served in many leadership positions, including Chair of the Firm’s largest practice group, the Southern California Education Law Practice Group, for over 10 years; as a member of the Executive Committee; and as Chief Operating Officer. He is recognized as one of the most skillful education attorneys in the state, litigating precedent-setting cases over the course of his career.

During Mr. Baca’s tenure with the firm, AALRR has grown into one of the largest and most successful law firms in the state, attracting well-respected and talented attorneys, as well as top students from the finest law schools in the country. During his first term as managing partner, AALRR was placed on the 2023 AmLaw 200 list, ranking it as one of the largest firms in the country. Earlier this month, AALRR moved up four spots in the 2024 rankings. In addition, AALRR has been repeatedly recognized for its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) by Law360, Chambers and Partners, the California Minority Council Program, and Associated Builders and Contractors.

“I am proud to be re-elected as the Firm’s Managing Partner,” Mr. Baca commented. “The Firm has seen tremendous growth and success during my first term, and I plan to continue promoting our core values and executing our strategic plan. I also recognize that our firm’s success is not possible without an incredibly hard-working, client-centric, and talented team.”
