This session will explore important aspects of workplace investigation, including when an investigation is required, addressing privacy concerns, gathering evidence, utilizing property interviewing techniques, assessing witness credibility, reaching a conclusion that is supported by the evidence, and preparing an appropriate investigation report. 8:15 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. | Disability 101: Reasonable Accommodation One of the most frequent claims made against California employers is the alleged failure to provide reasonable accommodation to employees and applicants with a disability. This session will explore state and federal requirements and offer practical strategies to identify when an employer’s obligation to engage in the interactive process is triggered, when reasonable accommodation is required, and what constitutes a “reasonable'” accommodation. This session will provide insights into developing and executing effective disciplinary processes, drafting sound documentation that supports the discipline, and appropriate communication of the imposed discipline to the employee.
