Part 2: May 9, 2022 |8:00-8:45 a.m.

On April 15, 2022, the State Board of Education announced it will be considering changing an ESY law that school districts and county offices of education have relied on for decades.  The current law provides that an LEA is not required to make available general education programming during ESY if no regular summer school programs are being offered by that agency.  The proposed change will eliminate that provision.  Our workshop will address the implications of this potential change and provide useful and timely information about ESY requirements regardless of whether the law changes.

The regular school year is quickly drawing to a close – but, it is not too late to make sure IEPs are sufficiently developed to properly address ESY requirements.  This webinar will target what IEP Teams must consider when determining whether a student even qualifies for ESY and, if so, the ESY placement and services required for eligible students.
