Interplay Between Leave Laws

Between confusing statutes and overlapping laws, designating and managing leaves is a legal landmine of liability for districts.  It is critical that districts understand not only the individual leave laws, but also the interrelationship of the various statutory schemes to ensure compliance.  This presentation will highlight the interplay between the various leave laws, highlight the challenges when handling workers’ compensation claims, and provide practical suggestions to help employers harmonize their approach when dealing with leaves.
