Overview
Kathleen M. Kelly has more than 30 years’ experience conducting investigations, spending much of her career representing clients in the San Francisco federal criminal defense legal system. Ms. Kelly is a seasoned neutral investigator, maintaining fair fact-finding in disputes involving alleged discrimination, harassment, sexual violence, retaliation, workplace abusive conduct and improper governmental activity. Ms. Kelly performs insightful witness interviews, thorough and impartial evaluations of evidence, and careful credibility analyses. She has a finely honed sense of intuition developed through years of experience and is trained in trauma-informed interview techniques, maintaining an empathic stance during the evidence-gathering portion of investigations. Ms. Kelly has interviewed those from all walks of life, including students at all grade levels, teachers and other employees, mental health experts, law enforcement officials, and other education professionals as well as those accused of crimes, witnesses, and those knowledgeable about serious allegations. Through her extensive experience with federal litigation, Ms. Kelly has developed the ability to gather, organize, and digest volumes of documentary evidence. Notably, she has also acted as an investigator to the special committee of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, investigating claims of judicial misconduct.
Prior to joining AALRR, Ms. Kelly spent over 7 years conducting investigations independently for various public agencies.
