Overview
Jessica Walker is an experienced civil litigator with an emphasis in employment and commercial litigation. Ms. Walker advises and defends employers large and small in labor and employment law matters in both state and federal court, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, alleged wrongful termination, wage and hour claims, class actions, and PAGA. Ms. Walker also represents businesses in litigation, such as breach of contract, non-competition, trade secrets, and other related disputes. Ms. Walker effectively advocates for clients both in and out of court.
Before joining AALRR, Ms. Walker successfully represented a variety of businesses in employment and commercial litigation matters as a solo practitioner. Prior to that, Ms. Walker gained extensive experience in civil litigation representing public entities, insurance companies, individuals and corporations in a wide array of state and federal cases, including government tort claims, personal injury, bad faith, premises liability, automobile liability, general negligence, and ADA claims. Ms. Walker successfully defended a public entity client in lower court and on appeal, which was certified for partial publication. (Jackson v. County of Amador, 186 Cal.App.4th 514 (2010).)
During law school, Ms. Walker externed for Chief Judge David F. Levi of the United States District Court, Eastern District, and participated in law review. Ms. Walker also earned a number of awards, including Witkin Awards in Legal Writing and Research I and II, Civil Procedure II, Torts I and II, and Civil Litigation: Pre-Trial Phase, as well as CALI Awards in Contracts I, and Solving Legal Problems.
