Overview
Hillary Chaffin advises and represents employers throughout California in various aspects of labor and employment law, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation claims, employee leave, discipline and termination-related issues, and also wage and hour class and representative actions. Ms. Chaffin also handles and participates in workplace investigations. In her business and commercial dealings, Ms. Chaffin represents a variety of businesses in breach of contract, fraud, conversion, misappropriation, non-competition, non-solicitation, and related disputes.
Ms. Chaffin represents her clients in state and federal court, arbitration, mediation, and before various administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Civil Rights Department, and the California Labor Commissioner’s Office.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Chaffin was a litigation paralegal for three years at an international law firm. During this time, she gained valuable experience while supporting attorneys at trials in federal court, International Trade Commission court, and in arbitration.

After a three-week jury trial, obtained a defense verdict for a national health care provider on claims of disability discrimination (Los Angeles County Superior Court)
Obtained a defense jury verdict for national insurance company on claims of breach of contract, bad faith, and negligence (San Diego County Superior Court)
