Overview

Lauren Ruvalcaba represents California school and community college districts in general education law and personnel matters. Her focus on education law includes general liability and certificated and classified discipline, as well as investigating complaints alleging violations of unlawful discrimination, harassment and intimidation, and unprofessional conduct.  She also assists with governance-related issues including Brown Act compliance, and responses to Public Records Act requests. She litigates matters arising under the California Education Code, California Government Code, and other state and federal statutes.  Additionally, Ms. Ruvalcaba has successfully defended clients against charges brought by the Civil Rights Department and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
