Overview
Rebecca Buchsbaum handles matters related to special education law, including those related to ADA, IDEA, and Section 504; equity in education, the Office for Civil Rights; and student discipline.
Ms. Buchsbaum attended UC Hastings where she graduated cum laude. She received the Witkin Award in Wills and Trusts, and CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Legal Research and Writing, Education Law, Children and the Law, and Family Law. While in law school, Ms. Buchsbaum was a member of the UC Hastings Honor Society and served as both a staff and senior symposium editor for the Hastings Law Journal. Ms. Buchsbaum was also president of the Hastings Association of Youth Advocates where she managed a program that trained and appointed Hastings students to serve as educational surrogates for foster youth in partnership with San Francisco Unified School District.
Prior to obtaining her law degree, Ms. Buchsbaum worked at East Bay Children’s Law Offices as a case manager for foster youth and youth involved in the juvenile justice system, connecting her clients to service providers and assuring that her clients’ educational needs were being met.
