Three separate workshops available, attend any or all three sessions. (Northern California Locations To Be Announced!)

Session One: Understanding Employee Leaves

This session will help administrators apply the leave provisions of state and federal law.  It will cover the Education Code, the Family Medical Leave Act, the California Family Rights Act, the California Pregnancy Disabilities Leave Act and other state laws.

Session Two:  Employee Absenteeism – Practical Guidelines For Managing Attendance Issues

This session will explore the different types of employee absenteeism and provide practical guidelines to comply with applicable employment laws.

Session Three: Controlling Employee Leaves Through the Contract

This workshop will assist district and county offices of education in controlling the use and abuse of illness-related leaves of absence by providing sample contract language and negotiating tips.
