ABA | 21st Fall Conference ~ Road Warriors
Road Warriors—A Hands-On Practical Demonstration of Technology and Ethical Perils
As technology has made us more connected, clients and opposing counsel expect responses 24/7, 365 days a year. Adding to the difficulty of responding is the amount of time today’s lawyers are spending on the road. Fortunately, road warriors have access to sophisticated technology in the form of hardware and software that can enhance their ability to practice law, improve productivity, and remain connected to their clients. While providing outstanding benefits, these tools also raise new legal ethical issues for lawyers. This session will provide a hands-on demonstration of some of the most productive hardware and software available. It also will provide a practical discussion of the legal ethical issues faced by lawyers using advanced technology, with an emphasis
on the ABA Commission on Ethics 20/20 changes to Model Rules 1.0, 1.1, 1.4, 1.6, and 4.4, as well as recent ethics opinions.
