AALRR Complimentary Breakfast Briefing ~ Reasonably Accommodating Gender Identity
REASONABLY ACCOMMODATING GENDER IDENTITY - And the Rights of Transgender Students
Students and employees may choose to express a gender identity that does not correspond to their sex assigned at birth. This presentation will review the legal protections for gender identity and provide practical advice for using the interactive process to develop and implement a transition plan that balances the interests of the district, the transgender person, and other affected persons.
Participants will gain critical knowledge to better enable districts to educate staff, students and parents regarding gender identity issues.
Speaker: Scot Yarnell, Partner
Scot represents California public school and community college districts in general school law, labor relations, employee and pupil personnel issues, and laws governing local public entities and public officials. He is also the current President Elect for the California Council of School Attorneys.
We look forward to seeing you at this complimentary briefing and discussion.
