Overview
Sundee Johnson represents California school and community college districts in education law, including disability accommodation, special education, student discipline, and charter school matters. She also handles and/or litigates special education due process hearings, Section 504 complaints, CDE compliance complaints, and discrimination claims. In addition, Ms. Johnson conducts investigations into allegations of discrimination and misconduct.
Honors & Recognitions
Every year from 2009 to 2013, Los Angeles magazine named Ms. Johnson a "Southern California Rising Star," an honor given to only 2.5 percent of the lawyers practicing in the state and based on independent research and peer assessment and appraisal. The recognition honors exceptional Southern California attorneys who are 40 years old or younger, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less.
In 2013 and 2014, Super Lawyers, a national attorney rating service, recognized Ms. Johnson as one of the “Top Women Attorneys in Southern California,” based on a poll of selected Southern California lawyers.

Ms. Johnson frequently gives presentations on a wide range of issues affecting California public schools and community college districts. She also conducts training workshops for Special Education professionals and other school district administrators, as well as Disabled Student Programs and Services professionals and community college district administrators.
