Nate Kowalski and Howard Sagaser, partners at the law firm of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo, have been recognized among the top 75 California labor and employment attorneys, according to a list published by the Los Angeles Daily Journal, a leading California legal trade publication.

The firm, based in Cerritos, has grown steadily during the past decade to its current 141 attorneys and seven offices across California.

Kowalski joined the firm in 2003. His practice involves a wide array of labor and employment issues for both the private and public sectors. Kowalski has developed a unique expertise concerning the application of California's wage and hour laws to public agencies. In 2009, he was lead counsel in a groundbreaking appellate case, which established that California’s overtime and meal period requirements do not apply to the public sector. In 2009, Chambers USA named Kowalski to its list of the top labor and employment lawyers in California, describing him as “adept, forthright and analytical.”

Sagaser joined the firm as a partner in 2009 and has practiced labor and employment law for over 35 years.  He represents clients from AALRR’s Fresno office. Sagaser is defined by his extensive litigation experience on a broad range of labor matters at all levels of state and federal courts and before administrative agencies, which has earned him a strong reputation as one of the most experienced attorneys in his field. He has also participated in over 50 ALRB and NLRB elections and has extensive collective bargaining experience with various unions. Sagaser is "AV" Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

“This honor reflects the strength of our entire practice group. AALRR’s comprehensive and collaborative approach to client service has earned the firm high marks.  We are very pleased to have two attorneys honored in this manner," remarked Robert Wenzel, Chair of the Employer Services Practice Group.
