New Associates Join AALRR - Expansion in Cerritos, Irvine and Pleasanton Offices

CERRITOS, Calif. —Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) is pleased to announce that Bethelwel Wilson, Jr., Jessica B. Armijo, Lisa M. Carrillo and Gilbert A. Castro have joined the firm as associates. Wilson, Armijo and Castro will practice education law, while Carrillo will focus on labor and employment law.    

Bethelwel Wilson, Jr., who works in the Education Law Practice Group at AALRR’s Cerritos office, was previously an associate with Cummins & White, LLP and worked in the Bakersfield City Attorney’s Office. He received a B.A. in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.

Jessica B. Armijo  also joins AALRR’s Education Law Practice Group and works in the firm’s Irvine office. Armijo has an extensive history in public service and has held internships with the White House and the United States Congress. She was also a teacher in the Teach for America program and taught elementary and middle school for three years as a credentialed special education teacher.  She received a B.A. from American University, dual Masters degrees from the University of San Francisco and Loyola Marymount University, and a J.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Law.

Lisa M. Carrillo works in the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group at its Cerritos office.  Her background includes service as a volunteer attorney for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, the nation’s leading Latino civil rights organization. She also worked as a law clerk in the complex litigation section of the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office. Carrillo received her J.D. from Stanford Law School and a B.A. in art history and political science from the University of Southern California.

The firm also welcomes Gilbert A. Castro, who joins AALRR’s Pleasanton office and works in the Education Law Practice Group. He received his J.D. from the University of Minnesota School of Law with a double concentration in labor and employment law and human rights law. Castro currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Contra Costa County.
