AALRR Designated One of the Most Inclusive Firms in the Country for Minority Women Lawyers

06.19.2017

Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) is thrilled to announce its recognition by Chambers & Partners’ annual Women in Law Awards USA 2017 as a shortlisted candidate for this year’s Most Inclusive Firm for Minority Women Lawyers.

As stated by Chambers, “Winning a Women in Law Award sets a remarkably high precedent and marks an internationally recognized achievement of excellence in furthering the advancement of women.” Now in their sixth year running, the awards and nominations are a product of extensive research and are given to firms making outstanding efforts to further the advancements of women within the legal profession. The four other firms nominated for this award are giants in the legal world, with thousands of attorneys practicing all over the globe. By comparison, AALRR employs just over 170 attorneys—thus its inclusion is a rare honor that emphasizes the firm’s outsize commitment to gender equality, diversity, and women’s initiatives.

For AALRR, diversity and inclusion are not just words on a page—they are priorities that infuse everything from the firm’s culture to hiring practices and client relationships. These efforts are recognized year after year by national publications, including Law360, which named AALRR one of the top 100 firms in the country for female attorneys, and California Lawyer Magazine, which ranked the firm #1 in diversity three years in a row. Our attorneys regularly appear on Top Women Lawyer lists, including those published annually by Daily Journal and Super Lawyers.

AALRR actively supports diversity in both firm and community-wide initiatives. The firm’s Diversity Committee and Women’s Initiative provide numerous professional development and mentoring opportunities throughout the year. Additionally, AALRR has served as a major sponsor of the Association of California School Administrators Women and Leadership Conference for the last three years.

“At AALRR, we believe our strong background in diversity sets us apart in bringing the best experience to our clients and our community, as well as to our internal firm culture,” comments Managing Partner Mark Palin. “We understand the value of a multitude of voices and perspectives, and our commitment to fostering those perspectives is what makes our firm both successful at what we do and a great place to work.”
