Super Lawyers Recognizes Seven AALRR Attorneys as Rising Stars

Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) is pleased to announce that seven firm attorneys have been selected to the 2017 Southern California Rising Stars list, which spotlights exceptional attorneys aged 40 and younger or those in practice for 10 years or less. The list is compiled annually by Super Lawyers, a national ratings service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas. The selection process includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice area. No more than 2.5% of attorneys in the state are selected, making the designation a prestigious honor. more

Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo Jumps 15 Spots on Law360’s Annual Ranking of the Largest Firms

Law360 announced its annual ranking of the country’s largest law firms on May 29, 2017, placing Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) as number 250 on its list of 400 firms. The firm jumped 15 spots from 2016 and 45 spots from the media company’s inaugural list published in 2014. The Law360 400 ranks firms based on domestic attorney and partner headcount. AALRR has added 14 attorneys and 12 partners in the last year alone, listing a total of 166 attorneys and 90 partners at the time of submission for the Law360 ranking. more

Nate Kowalski and Irma Rodríguez Moisa Win Distinguished Writing Award

Nate Kowalski and Irma Rodríguez Moisa, partners at Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR), have been honored for their exceptional legal writing as winners of the eighteenth annual Burton Awards. Kowalski and Rodríguez Moisa were recognized for their article “The Cat’s Paw Doctrine: Declawing Summary Judgment,” originally published in the Los Angeles Daily Journal. Only 25 articles from entries submitted by the nation's 1,000 largest law firms were named Burton Awards winners. more

Mary Salamone Receives Two Prestigious Honors for Her Legal Work

Mary Salamone, a partner in the Irvine office of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR), received two significant honors this month. First, she was selected into the Fellowship of the Construction Lawyers Society of America (CLSA). The CLSA is an invitation-only international honorary society of preeminent attorneys specializing in construction law. Attorneys selected as Fellows must have proven records of excellence and accomplishment in construction law practice, as well as outstanding ethical reputations. more

AALRR Presents Another Successful Employment Law Conference

Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) held its eighteenth annual Employment Law Conference on March 30, 2017 at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts and the Sheraton Cerritos Hotel. This year the event, the most comprehensive employment law conference in Southern California, attracted nearly 1,200 human resources professionals, managers, and other professionals. more

AALRR Is Now the 15th Largest Law Firm in Los Angeles

With 101 attorneys practicing in Los Angeles County, the law firm of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) is now the 15th largest in the county, according to the Los Angeles Business Journal. Last year, AALRR was listed as the 18th largest firm. Just four years ago, the firm was ranked 32nd. more

AALRR Receives National Diversity Excellence Award for the Third Time

On March 1, 2017, Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) was honored with the 2016 National Diversity Excellence Award. The award was given by Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC), a national construction industry trade association representing nearly 21,000 chapter members. It recognizes exemplary diversity leadership, recruitment policies, retention practices, and training and mentoring programs. ABC honors one company in each of four categories; AALRR won the award in the Associate category. This is the third year the firm has won this honor. Media companies Law360 and Chambers and Partners also gave AALRR national recognition this year for its diversity. more

AALRR Wins Case of First Impression at California Supreme Court

On February 16th, Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) won an important California Supreme Court case, Roy Allan Slurry Seal, Inc., et al. v. American Asphalt South, Inc. The Court ruled on a legal issue it had never decided before and unanimously agreed with AALRR’s interpretation of the law. more
