Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud and Romo Wins Total Defense Victory After Three-Week Trial…

On June 1st, 2016, Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (“AALRR”) won a major victory for its client, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (“MWD”). The plaintiff sued MWD after being terminated from his job. He sought economic damages in excess of $1.6 million, plus emotional distress damages. He claimed that his supervisor was biased against him due to his religious beliefs and that MWD retaliated against him after he complained about the alleged bias. more

AALRR Ranked by Law360 in the Top Ten Nationally for Minority Equity Partners and for Minority

Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) has been recognized by Law360 as the second best law firm in the country for minority equity partners and the ninth best in the country for minority attorneys in general. After surveying over 300 firms, Law360 made two lists: a ranking of the Top 50 Firms for Minority Equity Partners based on the firms’ percentage of minority equity partners; and a ranking of the Top 100 Firms for Minority Attorneys based on the firms’ minority representation of partners and non-partners and its total number of minority attorneys. AALRR ranked in the top ten on both lists. more

Just Published: Updated Pocket Guide to the Educational Employment Relations Act

Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo announces the release of the updated Pocket Guide to the Educational Employment Relations Act, published by UC Berkeley’s Institute for Research on Labor and Employment. The Pocket Guide was updated by three AALRR attorneys: Mark Bresee, a senior partner in AALRR’s San Diego office; Anna Miller, a senior associate in Sacramento; and Michele Landenberger, an associate in Irvine. more

Gabriel Sandoval to Lead White House Panel on Ensuring Equity in Education

Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo is proud to support the efforts of the President’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics. The Commission will meet tomorrow, April 28, 2016, at California State University, Fullerton, at the Titan Student Union from 8:30 AM to 2:45 PM. The meeting is open to the public and will feature renowned speakers. more

AALRR Ranked as a Top Law Firm for Female Attorneys

Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) has been recognized by Law360 as the 39th best law firm in the country for female attorneys. This is the second year Law360 has selected the 100 Best Law Firms for Female Attorneys and the second year AALRR has made the list. The firms are chosen based on the proportion and total number of female attorneys out of 300 law firms surveyed. more

Growing Strong in Los Angeles County: AALRR Now Rated 18th of the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Top

CERRITOS, CALIF. With 96 attorneys practicing in Los Angeles County, the law firm of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) is now the 18th largest in the county, as recently reported by the Los Angeles Business Journal. AALRR has nine more attorneys in its Los Angeles offices than it had the previous year, when the Los Angeles Business Journal listed it as the 20th largest firm. Just three years ago, AALRR was ranked 32nd. more
