Suparna Jain is a senior associate in the Pasadena office of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo. As a member of the firm’s Facilities, Construction and Property Practice Group, Ms. Jain represents school districts, community college districts, and other public entities, as well as some private clients in litigation and transactional matters. She has successfully made solo court appearances, attended and participated in off-site client meetings, served as the contact person for certain clients, and researched and drafted critical law and motion briefs for numerous cases.
In addition to helping resolve many facility and property litigation matters in her clients’ favor, she advises clients with respect to Americans with Disabilities compliance issues, construction prequalification requirements, prevailing wage requirements, and prepares public project contracts and documents. She has handled various public property matters as well, such as reviewing and preparing Proposition 39 energy contracts, license agreements, and advising clients on surplus property matters
Prior to joining AALRR, Ms. Jain worked at the Glendale City Attorney's office and the Sustainability Division of the City of Pasadena Planning Department.
Ms. Jain earned her undergraduate degree, with honors, from the University of California, Berkeley. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2010. While in law school, Ms. Jain participated as a board member and team member of the UC Hastings Moot Court. She worked within the public sector and on behalf of public entities throughout law school, serving as a Los Angeles Superior Court judicial extern and as a law clerk for both the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office and the Berkeley City Attorney’s office.
Publications and Speaking Engagements
Ms. Jain has authored many of her practice group’s client alerts and blog entries. The research paper she co-authored, “Enforceability of Local Hire Preference Programs,” was published by the Department of Transportation Research Board in its Legal Digest. In addition, Ms. Jain has given presentations on Americans with Disabilities access issues and on Proposition 39 energy agreements.
