Peter Denno is a senior counsel in the Fresno office. Mr. Denno handles a wide array of education and employment law matters for public school districts. His areas of concentration include student rights and discipline, certificated and classified employee discipline, discrimination and harassment, disability accommodations, Public Records Act and Brown Act compliance, conflict of interest laws, and student records privacy laws. Mr. Denno also conducts outside investigations on behalf of employers and advises employers on the conduct of their own internal investigations.
Mr. Denno has represented public school districts in state and federal civil court matters as well. He has successfully defended a school district in a writ of mandate case brought under the Public Records Act, assisted in the successful defense of multiple discrimination lawsuits, and obtained several workplace violence restraining orders protecting school administrators and staff members in the workplace.
Mr. Denno is an experienced speaker who conducts trainings and workshops for public school districts across a number of different areas, including A.B. 1825 sexual harassment prevention and student rights and discipline. He has also made several presentations for organizations such as the California Association of Supervisors of Child Welfare and Attendance (CASCWA) and the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA).
Mr. Denno received his bachelor’s degree, with honors, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of California, Davis, his master’s degree in political science from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law.
