Kimberly Schulist is a senior associate in the Marin and Pleasanton office of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo. Ms. Schulist represents school districts and county offices of education throughout California, with a focus on special education, student discipline, and related education law matters. She represents school districts at IEP team meetings, mediations, and due process hearings. She has represented school districts before the Office of Administrative Hearings and handled witness interviews in preparation for those hearings. Ms. Schulist also has experience in drafting board policies and legal opinion letters.
Ms. Schulist has completed a 40-hour mediation training course.
Ms. Schulist received her bachelor’s degree in political science, cum laude, from the University of California at Davis, and received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of San Francisco School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Schulist received both the American Jurisprudence and Corpus Jurisprudence Awards in Torts and was a Doug Raskin Scholarship recipient. She also served as a Judicial Extern in the California Court of Appeal for the Honorable Daniel M. Hanlon.

Ms. Schulist enjoys working with local animal rescue groups, fostering dogs and aiding with placement.
