Kevin Dale is a partner in the Fresno office of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo. Mr. Dale is experienced in counseling and representing public and private sector employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including discrimination/harassment claims, leaves of absence issues, employee terminations and discipline, grievances, workplace privacy, and wage and hour requirements. He regularly assists employers in compliance with the military leave laws, and has successfully defended actions brought under both state and federal law. He has also developed an expertise in assisting public safety agencies with internal affairs investigations and compliance with the Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill of Rights Act and the Firefighters Procedural Bill of Rights Act.
As an experienced labor negotiator, Mr. Dale represents employers at the bargaining table and has prepared numerous agreements with various types of bargaining units. Mr. Dale has also successfully represented employers in union actions, including unfair practice charges filed with the Public Employment Relations Board and National Labor Relations Board.
In addition to his labor and employment law experience, he also provides general counsel services to various public agencies, including school districts, community college districts, cities, counties, and special districts. Mr. Dale assists public agencies in navigating the requirements of the Education Code, Public Records Act, the Brown Act, and conflict of interest laws.
Mr. Dale received his law degree from Loyola Law School, and undergraduate degree from California State University, Fresno.
Mr. Dale’s community involvement includes service as a Personnel Commissioner for the City of Clovis, and he is the past Legislative Director of the Human Resource Association of Central California. He previously volunteered as a reserve deputy sheriff with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department and served over six years of active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps.
