Kandice Canchan is an associate in the Cerritos office of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo. She represents both public and private sector clients in various aspects of employment law, including investigation, advice and counsel, and defense of discrimination, First Amendment, harassment, and retaliation claims. She handles all stages of the litigation process to trial if necessary.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Canchan worked for the City of Los Angeles, City Attorney’s Office, where she gained significant experience defending against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and violation of leave laws.
Ms. Canchan is proficient in Spanish.
Ms. Canchan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, with distinction, in English from the University of California, Berkeley, and her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School. While in law school, she received Highest Honors in Trial Advocacy and Notable Mention grades in Employment Law and Hate Speech Seminar. As a law student, Ms. Canchan was a judicial extern for the Honorable Deirdre Hill, Los Angeles Superior Court, where she researched and analyzed a variety of legal issues, including drafting tentative bench rulings.
