Jillian Alexander is an associate in the firm’s Facilities, Construction and Property Practice Group. Ms. Alexander has represented general contractors, subcontractors, private owners, and public entities in state court, federal court, private mediation, and arbitration. She has handled all aspects of mechanics lien, stop notice, Miller Act, bond enforcement, and delay/disruption claims, and has negotiated contested construction contracts and master services agreements, including indemnity, insurance, limitation on liability, and changes provisions. Ms. Alexander also has served construction clients by interpreting, drafting, and revising construction contract provisions. In addition, she has defended public entity clients in all aspects of premises liability cases.
Ms. Alexander received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in philosophy and English from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Western State College of Law. During college and law school, Ms. Alexander worked as a law clerk at two law firms, drafting discovery requests and objections to evidence, reviewing and summarizing evidence and discovery responses, and researching and drafting memoranda for attorneys’ use in litigation.
