Gretchen Leach is an associate at Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo’s Cerritos office, where she focuses her practice on special education matters. Ms. Leach represents a diverse array of clients in all phases of complex administrative litigation and regulatory compliance issues. She has argued special education due process cases before the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH), as well as cases before the State Personnel Board, the Department of Personnel Administration, and other statewide departments. Additionally, Ms. Leach has used her skills and expertise in her field to train and supervise other attorneys in hearing preparation, witness examination, and advocacy techniques.
Ms. Leach has a rich background in healthcare law. Prior to joining AALRR, Ms. Leach worked as an attorney for four years at the California Department of Health Care Services before moving to private practice, serving in Nossaman LLP’s Healthcare Practice Group. She is the former Editor-in-Chief of Legal Medicine Perspectives, published nationwide by the American College of Legal Medicine.
Ms. Leach earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in international relations and political science from the University of Southern California, where she graduated with honors. As an undergraduate, she was a member of the Sigma Alpha Honor Society and attended the International Summer School Programme at the University of Cambridge. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she was a member of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Legal Aid Society and participated in the University’s Murray S. Love Moot Court Competition, as well as its Appellate Competition.
