Neel Ghanshyam is an associate at AALRR’s Riverside office, where he represents California school districts and county offices of education in a variety of general education matters, such as employee discipline, harassment and discrimination complaints, and contract administration. Mr. Ghanshyam’s prior experience includes representing various public entities, such as law enforcement, hospitals, and county entities, in matters of employment litigation, personal injury, administrative dismissals and employee relations matters. Mr. Ghanshyam also worked as a legal investigator for the U.S. Department of Labor, where he assisted in their ERISA compliance program and assisted in auditing employer and union retirement benefit and health benefit plans.
Mr. Ghanshyam received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and ethnic studies, with a minor in biology, from the University of California, San Diego. While completing his education, he worked as an intern researcher for the Scripps Institute of Oceanography, where he contributed to the discovery of a new species of sea anemones. He earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, where he served as President of the Student Bar Association from 2013-14. In addition, he interned for the Cancer Legal Resource Center and participated as a mentor for the organization Young Lawyers. He was awarded the Dean’s Service Award in 2014.
Aguilar v. County of Los Angeles, et al., Los Angeles County Superior Court, Case No. BC586140: Successfully obtained summary judgment on Plaintiff’s entire action on behalf of Defendant-public entity, which resulted in a dismissal of claims of age and disability discrimination, retaliation, and failure to prevent discrimination or retaliation.
