Allison Scott is an associate in the Cerritos office of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo. She represents employers in labor law and various employment litigation matters, defending clients against allegations of wrongful termination, discrimination, wage & hour violations, harassment and other claims. Ms. Scott’s experience includes multiple stages of the litigation process, including drafting of briefs, motion practice, mediation sessions and administrative hearings.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Ms. Scott worked as a manager with a large movie chain, handling all aspects of human resources. As a manager, she gained an insider’s knowledge of employee issues such as hiring and discipline, team development and operational issues.
Ms. Scott earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in history, law & society from the University of California, Riverside with High Honors and her Juris Doctor from Chapman University, Dale E. Fowler School of Law, with a business law emphasis. While in law school, she received a full merit scholarship, won a CALI Award for earning the highest grade in her class and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Nexus: Journal of Law & Public Policy. She also acted as a research assistant for two professors, summarizing relevant cases, law review articles, news articles and state statutes for scholarly articles.
As a law student, Ms. Scott worked as a legal intern with the Riverside City Attorney’s Office. She also worked as a legal extern with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office - Environmental Protection Unit, researching legal issues.
